SmartMeds Pharmacy is co-owned by the husband-and-wife team of Jason and Rekha Handa.

Jason Handa, B.Sc. Pharm, Pharm. D.
Pharmacist, Director and co-owner
Jason is a graduate of the Albany College of Pharmacy in Albany, New York. He earned a Bachelors of Pharmacy (B. Pharm.) degree in 1994 and post-graduate Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm. D.) certification in 1996.
He began his professional career as a Staff Pharmacist for one year with the Loblaws Group of Companies, and also spent two years as a Pharmacy Manager with Loblaws. Jason also worked as Pharmacy District Manager for the A&P Group of Companies for two years. He has held pharmacy staff teaching positions with the University of Toronto in Toronto, Ontario, and with Mohawk College in Hamilton, Ontario.
Jason is currently a consultant to the Elderly Services Advisory Committee (ESAC) for Halton Region and is on the Health Committee of Burlington Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of both the Ontario Pharmacists' Association and the American Society of Consultant Pharmacists.

Rekha Handa, B.A.
Administrator and co-owner
Rekha graduated from Brock University in 1997, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree, majoring in Sociology. She completed her degree in Montessori Teaching and worked in the Private School sector for six years. In that time, she was awarded her Administrator’s Diploma, focused on innovative tools involved in running a successful business. Rekha also had the opportunity to work as part of the Administration Team for two years at the school where she taught..
Currently, she is working as SmartMeds Pharmacy's Administrator, and is commited to being one of the team leaders of a wonderful group of staff. Rekha has lived and worked in Burlington for 8 years, and continues to play an active role in our strong and growing community.
